How long does it take to plan an Elopement?

The average Elopement takes 4-10 months to plan. I’ve helped couples plan their Elopement in less than 2 weeks and as far out as 19 months. Here are a few tips and tricks to help you plan your Elopement!

Tips on planning with a short planning window

1. Be flexible

Channel your inner “Good-Enough-ist” rather than your inner perfectionist. Know that things may not come together exactly how you envisioned it, but it will still be a beautiful day. Compromising on a few things will help everything come together quickly. This may mean buying a dress off the rack or pre-owned rather than getting something custom made or special ordered. It could mean choosing in-season flowers for your bouquet or choosing a location that doesn’t require permits or even getting a cake from your favorite grocery store. If you’ve hired any All-Inclusive Elopement Photographer, you can lean on them to help you with these details.

2. Shop Local

Even Amazons 2 day shipping can be wrong sometime. Shopping local will help eliminate any stress of shipping taking longer then expected. Having the items in your hands the moment you purchase them will give you a feeling of completion rather then having the stress of asking yourself “What if it doesn’t get delivered in time?” Buying local also helps your local economy :)

3. Cut somethings out

One of my favorite sayings is “the best way to declutter your stuff is to get rid of most of it”, the same can be said regarding stress and planning your wedding. If you’re needing to simplify planning, get rid of some of the unnecessary stuff. You don’t need to have a cake if you don’t want to deal with it. You can nix a bouquet if you’re not feeling it. Hell, if you want to get married in jeans and your favorite shirt DO IT! Your wedding day is yours, do what you two want to do and get rid of the things you don’t want to deal with.

Tips on planning with a longer planning window

1. Make a planning timeline

Make a detailed timeline of all the things that need to be done. Break it down with items for each week or month through the planning process. Bite off one thing at a time.

2. Prioritize

Time will fly by! Make sure you get your most important items finalized and booked early on.
